Seminar on Government-Taliban possible Dialogue: Prospects & Apprehensions

The Institute of Regional Studies Peshawar arranged a Seminar on “Government-Taliban possible Dialogue: Prospects & Apprehensions” in its office premises University Road Peshawar. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam, Director, Pakistan Study Centre, University of Peshawar introduced theme of the seminar and guest of honour Mr. Hassan Khan. Mr. Khan gave a detailed back and fore grounds of insurgency in Pakistan. He supported early initiation of parlays with Taliban.  He said that before reaching final agreement Govt. of Pakistan can buy time in restoring peace and convince the other party regarding solution of the problem. The seminar was attended by a selected gathering of intellectuals, Media persons and urban gentry. The presentation was followed by lively question-answer session.
