
Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar observed Solidarity day with Kashmiris. The staff and students took out a rally led by Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam. In his speech, Dr Fakhar highlighted the just struggle of Kashmiri freedom fighters. He said that Pakistani nation and civilized world are supporting the struggle for self-determination. The students also formed a human chain and observed silence to pay homage to Kashmiri martyrs.


Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam was chief gust at an event, Micro Mela organized at PUTA Hall, by Alkhidmat Foundation in collaboration with Muwakhat Pakistan and Department of Art and Design University of Peshawar. Mr. Saifullah Khan Additional Registrar University of Peshawar was guest of honor on the occasion. During the event, certificates were distributed among participants of painting competition wherein students and artists had painted portraits of various welfare activities. Moreover cheques as part of Alkhidmat micro credit programme were also distributed among widows. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Fakhrul Islam lauded the efforts of Alkhidmat regarding serving humanity. He said that involving youth in positive competition is really a commendable job. He asked people to support efforts Alkhidmat Foundation towards assisting needy people and those in distress. The Provincial President of Alkhidmat Foundation Khalid Waqas presented a shield to the chief guest.


Dr. Yousaf Khushk, Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters(PAL) visited Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar. The Director Pakistan Study Centre presented him a set of his books and Centre's shield. A function was held which was attended by litterateurs and academicians. Dr. Fakhar briefed the dignitary about research work conducted by the Centre on Pashto and other regional languages. In his address Dr. Yousaf Khush lauded the efforts of Dr. Fakhar in promoting languages and literature in his personal capacity and as Director of the Centre. He said that PAL is ready to work with Pakistan Study Centre in order to disseminate the already conducted research to other areas of Pakistan and abroad. He proposed signing of MoU between the two organizations. Mr. Bach Khan Nusrat, Regional director PAL Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also present on the occasion.
