
Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar observed “Yom-e-Istehsal” Kashmir. Pakistani and AJK flags were hoisted on Pakistan Study Centre’s building. Moreover, banners were also displayed inscribed with slogans for the support of Kashmiris. In this connection, a function was held in the Centre wherein Director Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam highlighted the Kashmir issue. He condemned India’s atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris. He said that the whole Pakistan nation stands with Kashmiris and the day is not far away when Kashmiris will get their independence.

Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar delivered a lecture at Peshawar High Court Bar Room. His topic was “Human Conduct and Ethics”. The Secretary General Peshawar High Court Bar Association Mr. Farooq Khan Advocate presented welcome address. The salient features of Dr. Fakhar’s speech were:
· Definition of ethics
· How can a society benefit from implementation of ethical values?
· Basic Human Ethics
· Basic Islamic Ethics
· How can ethical values be inculcated into the minds of youth?
· The genesis and parameters of professional ethics

Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar held 2-Day National Conference on “Religious Madaris in Pakistan” at Peshawar University’s Baragali summer camp District Abbottabad. The Resource Persons included Dr Attaur Rahman, ex-MNA and Secretary General Rabitatul Madaris Pakistan, Prof Dr Muhammad Mushtaq, Chairman Department of Law, Mirpur University Azad Kashmir, Prof Dr Zahid Mughal, Chairman Department of Economics, National University of Science and technology (NUST) Islamabad and Prof Dr Rashid Ahmad, Director Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Peshawar.
The organizer and Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar, Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam while highlighting the objectives of the conference said that the conference was organized by the Pakistan Study Centre as part of its mandate to hold programs on vital national issues. He said that the conference can only discuss problems and prospects of the religious madaris. As for as changes in their curricula and system are concerned, these can be done by madaris themselves. He said that the proceedings of the conference will be published very soon.
The Dean faculty of Arts and Humanities University of Peshawar Prof Dr Qazi Muhammad Naeem was chief guest of the concluding ceremony. He distributed shields among the guest speakers and certificates among the participants. He lauded the efforts of Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam and the Centre regarding holding seminars, symposia and conferences on various issues. He said these activities not only enhance knowledge of the participants but also build their personalities. Representatives of the participants expressed their satisfaction over the program and arrangements of the conference.
